On Friday February 2, OPSEU/SEFPO President JP Hornick joined other labour leaders at a press conference in Niagara Falls to deliver a message to Premier Ford and the Ontario PC party: life is getting more difficult for workers and their families under this government, and we’re ready to fight back.
The press conference was reported on by multiple news outlets including the Niagara Falls Review.
JP Hornick used the opportunity to remind Premier Ford that his government should be investing in the public services that people rely on and in the people who deliver those services.
“We need to support the workers, the people who deliver these services. We need to reverse the cuts in services, the reductions in spending on public services, and the caps on workers’ wages and salaries. We also need to stop the billion-dollar giveaways to your rich friends, CEOs, and corporations…
“This is Ontario labour rising. This is workers rising. We will take it to the doorstep of their convention, and we will take it to the doorstep of every community where there is a Conservative MPP until workers get it done,” – OPSEU/SEFPO President JP Hornick.
The Ontario PC party is holding its 2024 policy conference at Niagara Falls Convention Centre this weekend.
The OFL is organizing a rally and mass leafleting event on Saturday.
