OPSEU members gathered at the Hamilton Central Ambulance Communications Centre (CACC) on Friday in a “show of unity between Ambulance Communications Officers and Paramedics” to protest a decision to move staff from the Cambridge CACC to the Hamilton facility.  Region 3 EBM Janel Perron, an Advanced Care Paramedic, was at the rally and explains in this video posted to Twitter  why CACC management must come up with meaningful long-term solutions.  OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas recently wrote an open letter to Health Minister Christine Elliot calling on her to intervene with management at the CACCs, and launch a recruiting drive to hire more staff, pointing out they are essential frontline workers.
