OPSEU is proud to announce that eight members have received the prestigious Ontario Award for Paramedic Bravery. The eight were among 21 paramedics honoured this week for exceptional courage, either on the job or while off duty.  Congratulations are due to the following award recipients:

  • From Grey County Paramedic Services, Local 250: Matthew Breadner, Tiffany Shaw, Nick Maus, Kyle Stewart
  • From Peel Region Paramedic Services, Local 277: Ean Smith, Eryn Smith
  • From County of Frontenac Paramedic Services, Local 462: Joe Ferguson, Dale Hodgins

Ontario’s Minister of Health and Long Term Care, Eric Hoskins, presented the awards at Queen’s Park on May 12.

“It’s one of the great privileges of being President of OPSEU that I get to thank so many members for doing so much great work,” said Warren (Smokey) Thomas. “Our paramedics put themselves at risk to deliver a service that we simply cannot live without. These awards are richly deserved.”
