The news website Mississauga.com reports that OPSEU members were a large part of the protest against the Ford government’s cuts to education at the office of Mississauga-Erin Mills MPP Sheref Sabawy on April 12.
“We will not give up on fighting against the cuts to education, the support system students need to be successful and especially the vulnerable students with autism who need the additional supports that were cut without any research,” OPSEU Local 292 President Joe Skuce is quoted as saying.
“We will keep tweeting and informing everyone we can that Ford and his government need to stop his radical cuts to education.”
The article says: “OPSEU Local 292 represents all IT and media support staff with the Peel board. Members protested the government’s many proposed changes, including increasing the amount of students per classroom, the introduction of mandatory online courses and cuts to support for students with autism.”
