As a proud social justice union, OPSEU believes in the principles of fairness, equity and diversity. Guided by these principles, we fight for social and economic justice every day, and we believe in giving back.

OPSEU recently relaunched its ShopOPSEU.org online store, with the commitment to donate part of the proceeds collected from the site to organizations and partners who share our principles and goals; those working to build a better world from the grassroots up.

This year, OPSEU is honoured to present donations to the following recipients:

  • $10,000 to the Stephen Lewis Foundation for its ongoing commitment to fighting HIV and AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa, and improving the lives of those affected.
  • $7,000 to OPSEU’s seven Regional Hardship Committees who provide emergency financial assistance to OPSEU members who are experiencing unexpected and/or temporary financial hardship.
  • $2,675.97 to OPSEU’s Social Justice Fund, which supports organizations fighting for human, economic, labour and political rights.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients. Thank you for your ongoing dedication to our members, our communities and our province, and for your unwavering commitment to social and economic justice.

In Solidarity,
