Ottawa's 1310 News is reporting on the OPSEU poll that found 80 per cent of Ontarians are opposed to Doug Ford's deep and dangerous cuts to the public health care system.
"The autism services at CHEO, they've issued layoff notices," OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas told the radio station. "They're laying off pretty much the whole program."
Thomas said that similar cuts to other health care programs and public health units across the province are giving the majority of Ontarians a terrible sense of voter's remorse, noting that Ford's approval rating is now below 30 per cent.
"He's down in Kathleen Wynne territory, and quicker than she got there," said Thomas.
The union president added that he would be happy to take a meeting with the Premier at any time because he would "rather see him get it right."
