Counsellors, Researchers, and Community Capacity Builders at Ontario HIV Treatment Network (OHTN) voted strongly in favour of becoming the newest members of OPSEU/SEFPO Local 5120. They’ll be joining all the other recently organized OPSEU/SEFPO community health care workers from The Fife House Foundation.

OHTN is a non-profit organization that funds and conducts HIV research and provides education, capacity building, evaluation services, data collection and monitoring for HIV services in Ontario. Their mission is to improve the health and lives of people living with and at risk of HIV by using data and evidence to drive change.

Facing issues like lack of transparency and consistency, understaffing, and unfair treatment, the workers at OHTN raised their collective voice to improve their working conditions so they can continue to provide quality care to their community.

“On behalf of all 180,000 of our members across Ontario, our Executive Board and staff, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to our new members from the Ontario HIV Treatment Network,” said OPSEU/SEFPO President JP Hornick. “The work you do is incredibly important, and you deserve transparency and fair treatment from your employer. It’s time for your collective voice to be heard!”
