OPSEU/SEFPO Local 462 Ambulance Communication Officers and Paramedics are hoping to make the holidays a little brighter for children in Kingston & Frontenac County!

Due to COVID-19, efforts to hold an in-person event are not possible, so donations are being taken online. The proceeds will go toward the purchase of toys, clothing and/or food to children and families in need within the Limestone District School Board.

“Our members are some of the most compassionate and caring people you’ll find anywhere,” said Dave Doran, a Region 4 representative on OPSEU/SEFPO’s Executive Board. “They make our community a better place in so many different ways.”

This is the 10th year that Local 462 has stepped up to make the holidays better for people who are less fortunate.

OPSEU/SEFPO President Warren (Smokey) Thomas says this is another example of how the union’s members give back to the community.

“The dedication of the front-line heroes in our union doesn’t end when the workday is done,” said Thomas.  “This is another example of how our members find ways to give back to the community. COVID-19 has raised the need of many to incredible heights. I’m so proud of my members and I know Ontarians are too.”
