@opseusefpo On June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day, let’s recommit ourselves to writing a different narrative, by celebrating Indigenous culture, and daily acts of reconciliation. #NIPD2023 ♬ original sound – OPSEU/SEFPO
“On June 21, Canadians everywhere will celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day. The annual observation is an outstanding opportunity to honour and experience the unique heritage, diverse culture, outstanding achievement and contributions of our country’s First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples.
“The Truth and Reconciliation report highlighted the struggles Indigenous people have faced due to colonialism, residential schools, the 60’s scoop, broken treaties, and the Indian Act. Every year on National Indigenous Peoples Day, OPSEU/SEFPO reaffirms unwavering solidarity with Indigenous people.
“Union members from every corner of the province are strongly encouraged to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day by participating in events that highlight the achievements Indigenous people have made throughout history.
