Your current benefit plan will end midnight on March 31, 2018 and the new plan will start on April 1st 2018. Details of the new plan are being finalized and will be communicated shortly.
Members are advised that any benefit needs and/or claims should be submitted as soon as possible prior to March 31st.
Online claim submission with existing carriers may not be possible after March 31st. Members are encouraged to download as much information as possible from their existing plan portals prior to March 31st (ie. drug exemption, pre-authorizations, pre-determinations, claim forms, claims history).
The Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP) will be setting up a portal for members to enroll for the new OCEW Benefit Trust. Members will be receiving an invitation/communication from OTIP asking members to enroll.
The portal will include “How to” tutorials that will assist members with the enrollment process. Further details will be provided shortly.
Failure to enroll in the new OCEW plan within the timeline specified in the invitation will result in delays in benefit coverage.
