Dear friends:

OPSEU members know that strong public services are critical to the well-being of all Ontarians. Sadly, Queen’s Park doesn’t fund these services properly. For a long time, we’ve spent less per person on public services than any other province in Canada. And now, under the Doug Ford government, things are getting worse.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Ontario has options. To explore those options, the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA) has produced a new short video, Richer Than Ever. I encourage you to watch it, share it with family and friends, and discuss it with your co-workers. This video provides facts and arguments to help us push back against the agenda of cost-cutting that is hurting our public services and hurting our province. In my opinion, it is a must-see for all OPSEU members. View the video – you’ll be glad you did.

In solidarity,
Warren (Smokey) Thomas
President of OPSEU

P.S. Once you’ve seen Richer Than Ever, please consider making a donation to the CCPA. Canada’s leading progressive think tank has been making the case for good jobs, strong public services, and a fair society since 1980, and support from progressive Ontarians makes their work possible. Click here to chip in.
