The OPSEU Provincial Women's Committee is excited to announce that the keynote speaker at our annual Women's Breakfast will be NDP MPP Peggy Sattler (London West).

Date: Friday, April 7
Time: 7:30 a.m.
Location: Metro Convention Centre, Room 203 A
Cost: $10 at the door

Peggy Sattler introduced the game-changing Bill 26, the Domestic and Sexual Violence Workplace Leave, Accommodation and Training Act into the Ontario legislature. If it becomes law, the private member’s bill will provide survivors of domestic and sexual violence with up to 10 days of paid leave, reasonable unpaid leave, and flexible work arrangements.

OPSEU and the PWC have actively endorsed and supported Bill 26. OPSEU is one of 15 unions that have signed the Ontario Federation of Labour’s "Pledge to Make Paid Leave for Sexual and Domestic Violence Survivors a Collective Bargaining Priority."

Peggy Sattler will be speaking about the legislation, policies and practices that best promote women’s participation in the workplace, help close the gender pay gap, and that respect women’s rights at work. For Peggy Sattler’s bio, click here peggy_sattler_bio.pdf
