Instructions for joining the call

The telephone town halls will run from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, October 10.

Just before 10 a.m., and again at 2 p.m., we will phone all members at the phone number we have in our database. There will be meeting rooms booked at some MPAC work locations for groups of staff to participate on the call, and a list of these rooms is available at http://opseu.org/mpac/teletownhall2018.htm. You can also call in from your own phone by calling 1-877-229-8493 at 10 a.m or at 2 p.m. You will need to enter the access code 112847.

During the call, you can choose to listen only, or you can follow the instructions on the call to ask any questions you might have.

Ratification vote to be held Thursday, October 11 – voting
locations online

Details on the ratification vote locations are now available in the events section of the MPAC bargaining page at http://opseu.org/mpac/votelocations2018.htm. In order to allow full participation and accessibility, the vote will be conducted on the employer’s premises (except Kitchener) and will occur between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 11. All members are entitled to vote, including contract workers and students. Those who work from home are encouraged to come into the office to vote.  Please check the OPSEU website vote location link for the specific voting times for your local.

Tentative deal includes wage increases and no concessions

The four-year agreement provides annual wage increases of 1.9 per cent in each of the first three years and 1.75 per cent in the final year. All members will get $750 for health and wellness. It also includes a one-time payment for full-time members to help offset the costs of affiliate and candidacy fees.

“This is a good deal for MPAC members, and it’s also going to help all of the other OPSEU members going to the table under the Ford government,” said OPSEU First Vice-President/Treasurer Eduardo (Eddy) Almeida. “It’s a clear sign to the Premier that employers understand that the work our 155,000 members do is vital to communities across the province, and they deserve to be paid fairly.”
