The Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, CP24, The Toronto Sun, and Global News are among the major media covering OPSEU/SEFPO President Warren (Smokey) Thomas’s formal objection to 7-Eleven’s 61 liquor license applications across the province.
“7-Eleven says it’s trying to make its stores into restaurants where alcohol can be served, but we all know the truth: kids and teens will find themselves shoulder-to-shoulder with intoxicated people washing down a Twinkie with a six pack,” said Thomas in a widely reported quote from this media release.
The AGCO is accepting objections from anybody living in the communities where the 7-Elevens are located. The deadline is March 11.
