On September 27, five First Nations from Northern Ontario will come to Toronto to lead a march calling on Premier Ford to end unwanted mining activity on their Territories. These five strong First Nations have formed a historic alliance to protect their lands and waters in the face of mounting concerns about encroachment on their territories by mining exploration companies who have been enabled by the Ford government.
When: Wednesday September 27th, 2023 @ 12pm
Where: Grange Park in Downtown Toronto

Buses have been organized to take contingents from around the province to Toronto. You can find bussing information here.
These concerns have been voiced to Doug Ford many times – but he refuses to budge, once again prioritizing private companies and their profits over people. If thousands of us join them in solidarity, we can show the Ford government that the public supports the Land Alliance and won’t stand for the violation of Indigenous sovereignty. Join the Land Defence Alliance to demand respect for Indigenous rights and sovereignty and protect the sources of life on their Territories in the face of mining incursions.
Our fights are connected. Indigenous justice is climate justice is labour justice.
In solidarity with Indigenous peoples everywhere,
JP Hornick and Laurie Nancekivell
