Your corrections bargaining team reconvened after the Thanksgiving holiday on Monday. We have continued to work on our standalone collective agreement (CA), putting the final touches in place. This included reviewing the employer’s draft submissions for the proposed CA.
Our next meeting with the employer is tentatively scheduled for October 25 to discuss further edits to the CA. Once completed, this will form the starting point for our corrections standalone CA.
We have also started reviewing the disclosure items that will be needed for this round of bargaining. In addition, your bargaining team began reviewing the demand-set results of the individual locals to identify the top demands.
Once identified, those demands will become priorities for the Correctional bargaining unit. Our first exchange in negotiations with the employer remains tentatively scheduled for October 30.
We have corrected the omission of some team members’ names, which our first issue of LockTalk contained. We offer our apologies for any confusion this may have caused in terms of the composition of your Corrections bargaining team.
