LockTalk # 11: Employer – Your Move

Printable version

Update from the bargaining table

Your bargaining team met with the Employer on May 6th and 7th with the expectation that the Parties would finish discussions on non-monetary issues and begin negotiating monetary proposals. Although we reached agreement on a number of non-monetary issues, the Employer was not prepared to begin monetary discussions.

Your bargaining team has worked diligently to come to the table prepared to advance key member priorities. We provided the employer with a comprehensive proposal that included monetary issues back in December 2024. Despite having our proposal since then, the employer has not provided a response to any of the Union’s monetary proposals, nor have they provided their monetary position.

We have made it clear to the employer that they need to come to the table on May 22nd prepared to engage in monetary discussions. Your bargaining team is not interested in wasting time at the table and will cancel the date if the employer remains unprepared.

We have been and remain ready to engage in fulsome discussions of the issues and address the demands set by members at the beginning of the bargaining process. We expect the Employer to do the same.
