Pay hike considered for Confederation College president

The chair of OPSEU’s College Academic Workers Divisional Executive continued to question the logic of hiking executive pay when colleges continue to experience tight budgets that are limiting frontline resources for students.

Algonquin College president's pay could soar as public sector executives salary freeze ends

OPSEU Local 415 Vice-President Jack Wilson criticized the “mind-boggling” proposal, comparing Algonquin’s plan to raise the president’s pay by 38 per cent to the under 1.8-per-cent increases academic staff have been held to for the last three years.

Mohawk president could get 50 per cent pay hike

In the wake of a proposal to increase the president’s pay by up to 50 per cent, the OPSEU local representing Mohawk College faculty is questioning the comparators used to justify the increase and the message being sent to students given cuts to staffing and growing class sizes.
