Last night, Education Workers in Local 2100 from Peel District School Board organized an urgent town hall to discuss bargaining and how they can build power to win big for students and workers! Local President Melody Hurtubise stressed the importance of working together because united we won’t be defeated!
Education workers are the backbone of our education system, and our local negotiations are an opportunity for us to demand better working conditions for members and better learning conditions for students. So far, the Peel District School Board is not listening to our concerns.
Local 2100 members have shown a willingness to take collective action to put pressure on the employer to bargain reasonably. Now, we need to ramp up that pressure using the tools available to us in the collective bargaining process. Our members are fired up and ready to fight for what they deserve! Stay tuned for next steps coming soon.
