LCBO workers to host anti-privatization picket, Mississauga

Mississauga – Friday, members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) at the LCBO will host their ninth anti-privatization information picket, this time in Mississauga.

Date: Friday, October 21, 2016
Time: 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Place: Outside LCBO Store #619
5100 Erin Mills Parkway (Erin Mills and Eglinton), Mississauga

Local 288 president Judy Irving explained the drive behind OPSEU’s campaign to stop the expansion of alcohol sales to grocery stores: “There are more than 7,000 OPSEU members working at the LCBO,” she said. “When we see the government making terrible decisions that will harm the province on so many fronts, we aren’t only speaking for ourselves. We are speaking for our families and communities. Ontarians agree with us when we say nobody voted for Premier Kathleen Wynne to privatize the LCBO, and she needs to stop now.”
