We’re thrilled to welcome lawyers at Don Valley Community Legal Services, Community Advocacy and Legal Centre, South Etobicoke Community Legal Services, and the Human Rights Legal Support Centre to OPSEU/SEFPO.

These lawyers voted in favor of joining OPSEU/SEFPO, despite the obstacles put in their way by their employer.  They join a growing contingent of community legal clinics represented by OPSEU/SEFPO.

“I’m so pleased to welcome more community legal clinic lawyers to OPSEU/SEFPO,” said OPSEU/SEFPO President JP Hornick. “The work these members do has an immeasurable impact on the lives of the most vulnerable in our communities. We’re proud to stand with them and fight for their rights, and the rights of the people they help.”

Joining a union ensures a stronger voice, collective bargaining power and support for these legal professionals’ rights and interests. It’s a move that reflects a desire for fair working conditions and advocacy for both employees and the communities they serve.

“Welcome to all the legal professionals joining OPSEU/SEFPO! We are pleased that your workplace has chosen OPSEU/SEFPO to be your union,” said Patricia Zonta, Chair for Sector 5, Community Agencies. “We have been working diligently to take on challenges in our workplaces and are striving to create workplaces that are fair and equitable for all! The past 4 years have been a challenge to say the least, but thanks to solidarity and perseverance, we have made great progress to challenge our employers when it is necessary. We look forward to fighting with you!”
