Pharmacy professionals at The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre have voted unanimously to join OPSEU/SEFPO. The workers are Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Assistants, working out of two hospital locations in the city of Toronto.

Pharmacy professionals provide pharmacy services to the various departments across the hospitals.

Facing a lack of transparency from their employer, and wanting their voices to be heard, these workers voted to join OPSEU/SEFPO to give them the best chance to address these concerns.

“Hospital professionals are on the frontlines of the fight to protect our health care system.” said OPSEU/SEFPO President JP Hornick. “Joining OPSEU/SEFPO sends a powerful message to the Ford government that workers are getting organized to win.”

All the pharmacy professionals in both hospitals will be joining over 25,000 members in OPSEU/SEFPO’s Hospital Professionals’ Division.

“Hospital professionals continue to be pushed beyond the breaking point,” said Region 3 Vice President and Chair of the Hospitals Professional Division, Sara Labelle. “By joining the other members of OPSEU/SEFPO in the Hospital Professionals Division, these pharmacy professionals are now part of a solid, winning team and they will get the support they deserve. They will have a much stronger voice moving forward with their employer, and together, we will be a stronger voice for hospital professionals in Ontario.”
