Another group of Developmental Services workers — this one at Ingersoll Support Services Inc. (ISSI) — has voted to join OPSEU/SEFPO

“OPSEU/SEFPO is thrilled to welcome the caring and compassionate staff of Ingersoll Support Services to our union,” said OPSEU/SEFPO President JP Hornick. “These dedicated workers do so much to support their community. Now, they have the support they need in addressing their workplace concerns, and the solidarity that comes with being part of our union and the broader labour movement.”

The group of more than 100 new members work out of 14 work locations across Oxford County. ISSI is funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.

The staff of ISSI have been enriching the lives in their community for years. From building independence and personal growth, to fostering local connections and support networks, to empowering individuals to become strong contributors to their community, ISSI delivers essential services to those they serve.

“We’re very excited to welcome Ingersoll Support Services to OPSEU/SEFPO following their representation vote this month,” said Silvana Cacciatore, chair of OPSEU/SEFPO’s Developmental Services Sector. “Better wages, better working conditions, and strong labour representation are long overdue for these incredible staff.”

By joining OPSEU/SEFPO, these new members join more than 12,000 other Developmental Services staff working in group homes and other facilities across the province.
