OPSEU/SEFPO Convention is a safe and welcoming space. We would like to invite all First Nations (status and non-status), Métis and Inuit members attending Convention to join us in the opening procession as we begin Convention in a good way.
We invite those who wish to wear their regalia, ribbon skirts or shirts, and/or sashes to do so or gather with us as you are. You are welcome to bring your drums and shakers.
If you wish to participate in the procession, please gather with us outside Hall A (opposite side of the Marketplace) between 8:15 am and 8:45 am – Thursday, April 24, 2025
For our preparation purposes we ask you to pre-register here for the procession. This is not mandatory, you are still welcome to join us on Thursday morning.
We will begin our procession drumming and singing the Cherokee Morning song and we welcome you to join with voice. Watch members of the Indigenous Circle singing the Cherokee Morning Song and The new Cherokee morning song with translation.
NEW: We welcome you to join us for the Indigenous Closing on Sunday, April 27 which will take place prior to Convention Adjournment at noon. Please gather with us at the Elder’s Table by 11:30 AM or earlier if there is a Call for Adjournment on Convention Floor.
