During Health Professionals Week, we celebrate the specialized care that our growing membership of health care professionals in OPSEU/SEFPO’s Hospital Professionals Division (HPD) provide every day for patients in Ontario’s hospitals. HPD members work at 84 hospitals across the province, providing diagnostics, rehabilitation and therapies in more than 250 health professions.
Our members are at the forefront of the fight to save our hospitals and public health care, and to demand fair compensation for the health professionals who are the backbone of the health care system. Not only have OPSEU/SEFPO’s hospital professionals been awarded substantial increases to wages, premiums and benefits in their long-fought Wage Reopener arbitration award last year, but they have also carried out an award-winning publicity campaign to save our health care system from privatization, and continue to work in their communities to save local hospitals across Ontario.
As a result, our division keeps growing, and many more hospital professionals chose OPSEU/SEFPO to represent them during this past year!

Local 4106 HPD members from the Kingston Health Sciences Centre celebrated Health Professionals Week by creating several videos describing the work they do, and holding events in their workplace.
We’ve posted their videos below – enjoy!
