November 3 to 9 is Medical Radiation Technologist Week.
Medical Radiation Technologists (MRTs) are professionals who play an essential role in our health care system. It is important we recognize their contribution and thank them for their hard work and dedication.
Many of us have needed their help at one time or another through the use of X-rays, mammography and ultrasounds. The Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) reports – from a 2013 poll – that nearly one-third of Canadians had received an imaging procedure or radiation therapy to treat cancer or another disease. They also find broken bones, causes of pain, swelling, and infections.
OPSEU is proud to represent MRTs in our Hospital Professionals Division. You can be proud of the work you do. We certainly are proud of you.
In solidarity,
Warren (Smokey) Thomas, President
Eduardo (Eddy) Almeida, First Vice-President/Treasurer
