Ford Nation Fantasyland is ‘no fairytale’ for the people: OPSEU President Thomas

Toronto – Doug Ford and his slash-and-burn sidekick Vic Fedeli look more like the Big Bad Wolf threatening to blow ‘the peoples’ house down rather than Goldilocks, OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas said Friday.
Thomas is snickering at the finance minister’s so-called “Goldilocks” approach to balancing the budget, after Fedeli refused to give any hints about what to expect in his first budget next month.
“Ford and Fedeli are in the wrong fairytale, they aren’t getting anything just right,” said Thomas. “Ever since the Brothers ‘Grim’ have been in power they’ve been huffing and puffing with deficit fear-mongering to justify deep public sector cuts and costly privatization schemes.
“And the three bears aren’t getting their porridge either,” said Thomas. “Ford is giving it all away to the Tory pigs at the trough. Ford is the Big Bad Wolf blowing down health care, autism funding and public services in general.”
With just one month until the provincial budget is released, OPSEU First Vice-President/Treasurer Eduardo (Eddy) Almeida says it’s time for the premier to snap out of Ford Nation Fantasyland and wakeup to reality.
“The Conservative caucus must act quickly to take back their party,” said Almeida. “Ford’s cabinet members are just supporting characters in his twisted tale, but the rest of his caucus should stand up to Ford before he drags the party and the entire province down the rabbit hole.”
“We’re here to rewrite the Doug Ford drama and to demand a happy ending for Ontario,” said Thomas. “We’re here to demand a provincial budget that invests in the public services that build our province, and its people up.
“The moral of the story?” said Thomas, “It’s time for our ‘Grim’ political leaders to listen to the people, and if they really think they’re Goldilocks then get out of our house.”
