Pursuant to a 2016 resolution at Convention, OPSEU established an ad hoc task force to engage an independent consultant to conduct a review of OPSEU's harassment and discrimination policies, complaint reporting process and workplace culture regarding issues of harassment and discrimination.
The task force undertook an RFP process and selected Shearer Lattal LLP as the service provider for this project. Shearer Lattal LLP is law firm that specializes in providing neutral workplace assessments and has expertise in harassment and discrimination matters. The project will involve a number of steps designed to obtain a fair and accurate assessment of OPSEU's approach to harassment and discrimination.
The goal of this project is to ensure that OPSEU is following best practices around harassment and discrimination and providing staff with a harassment and discrimination-free workplace. We will provide further information as the project progresses.
