Corrections Cares helps out with Out Of The Cold

The volunteer efforts of OPSEU members Joy Wallace and Adele Whaul, who are Probation and Parole Officers, are the focus of an article in Beach Metro Community News about the union’s annual Corrections Cares campaign.

“We assist people with accessing services like Out of the Cold when they come to our office,” said Wallace, who helped organize the Corrections Cares partnership with Out of the Cold (OOTC) in the Beach.

Wallace recognized that sometimes when inmates are released from prison, they look to programs like OOTC to provide them with a meal and a place to sleep.

Along with the volunteer hours, OPSEU members at Riverdale Probation and Parole donated 30 bags of feminine products and $200 to the OOTC program.
