Correctional peace officers from across Ontario will gather at Queen’s Park on Monday, May 13 to pay tribute to those who have fallen in the line of duty. Officers will assemble on the south lawn of Queen’s Park at 10 a.m. and the service will begin at 11 a.m.
After the tribute, members will speak to the impact of the stress and working conditions associated with the job. Representatives from all three political parties have been invited to attend this service.
Corrections locals are asked to send as many representatives to this event as possible, in uniform or professional attire. If unable to attend, you can send an e-mail message of support that will be read out at the event.
For members attending, please note that associated costs are at your local’s or personal expense. Any locals who plan to send buses to the event are asked to contact Dan Sidsworth to verify the numbers attending.
