Update: ATU 1587 GO Transit workers have reached a tentative agreement with Metrolinx. Once again, the strength of workers on the picket line builds power to win at the bargaining table!

On Monday, Nov. 7, 2,200 members of Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1587 headed to the picket lines to fight for safe transit and job security.

These workers, including GO bus drivers, station attendants, office staff, mechanics, plant personnel and transit safety officers, risked their lives to keep Ontario moving during the pandemic, but their bosses at Metrolinx wanted to be able to replace them with lower paid private contract employees.

Transit workers deserve respect and job security – we know what workers standing together can accomplish!
