TORONTO – Members of the Citizens Coalition Against Privatization gathered at Queen’s Park on Monday afternoon to voice their opposition to the sale of Hydro One

They handed out leaflets and sang carols calling on the Premier to stop the sale: “Kathleen the redcoat Liberal, has a really nasty scheme…and if you ever saw it…it would really make you scream!”

The members then presented hundreds of signed petitions to NDP leader Andrea Horwath, who will read them in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

Echoing the calls to end the privatization scheme was an LED truck encouraging citizens to contact their MPPs and oppose the sale of Hydro One.

“We’re taking the fight right to the Premier’s door step,” said Rosario Marchese, CCAP Chairman.  “The good news is we can still stop this scheme before it’s too late.”

The CCAP has organized three straight days of afternoon rallies in Toronto. On Dec. 8, members will meet outside the Toronto Stock Exchange on King St. West while on Dec. 9 they will gather at the corner of Queen St. East and Lee Ave in the Beaches. The rallies will start at approximately 4 p.m. All OPSEU members are encouraged to attend.
