OPSEU children and youth mental health workers across the province are marking Family Day, February 16, with Family Week activities celebrating their work in helping to build resilient communities.
OPSEU mental health professionals are dedicated to providing the highest level of service through publicly funded and delivered programs. The sector is facing uncertainty as members prepare to bargain collective agreements during a period of dramatic restructuring. The Ministry of Children and Youth Services (MCYS) is overseeing planned closures of 472 community agencies, downsized to 34 Lead Agencies by 2016.
The sector is committed to advancing children’s mental health and rehabilitation services that protect and support the work of mental health professionals in publicly-run agencies.
Award to OPSEU Local/ unit for most creative activity
The Child Treatment Sector will award $150 to the bargaining unit that engages its members in a creative action that promotes ‘resilience’ and expresses our core value of collective solidarity with each other and the families and youth that we serve.
