When the Respiratory Therapists at Cambridge Memorial Hospital voted to join OPSEU/SEFPO, the results were a resounding and unanimous Yes!

“I’m proud to welcome every new member,” said OPSEU/SEFPO President Warren (Smokey) Thomas. “And there’s something special about welcoming members who have been so courageous and committed throughout the pandemic.

“COVID is a respiratory virus, and so Respiratory Therapists are about as far forward on the front lines as you can get.”

A number of other Cambridge Memorial hospital professionals in Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging are already OPSEU/SEFPO members.

The Respiratory Therapists are the latest in a long and growing list of hospital professionals who’ve decided to join OPSEU/SEFPO over the past year-and-half.

“From Kirkland Lake to my hometown of Hamilton, our union is *the* choice for health care workers,” said OPSEU/SEFPO First Vice-President/Treasurer Eduardo (Eddy) Almeida.

“There’s strength in numbers. And with 180,000-plus members, our great union is growing into Ontario’s strongest union.”
