OPSEU/SEFPO is seeking member participants for a new Ad Hoc Child Care Committee tasked with formulating a comprehensive policy on child care, per a motion put forward during the 2022 convention. Currently, we are seeking a minimum of four members who use OPSEU/SEFPO child care, and two members who have children but don’t use our services.

Please note that the ad hoc committee selection process seeks to achieve a diverse group of voices, lived experiences, and identities, which includes Indigenous, Black and racialized members and other equity groups within our membership.

Meetings for the ad hoc committee will be held both in person and virtually, and there will be a minimum of two meetings this year (2022).

If you have any questions, we invite you to direct them to OPSEU/SEFPO’s Conferences Unit at [email protected]. Also please note that the deadline to apply to this committee is September 28.

True solidarity is only possible when all of our members can participate in this union equally. This means we must work to eliminate barriers to participation by ensuring the full engagement and empowerment of all our members. We know that offering quality, accessible child care for our members is integral to this process.
