The bargaining team for OPSEU/SEFPO employees in the CAAT-S PT Division is eager to begin the ratification process on the tentative agreement reached with the College Employer Council (CEC) on June 25.

The first step will be holding a meeting of the highest-ranking CAAT-S PT divisional members from each of Ontario’s 24 colleges. It will take place at 12 noon on Thursday, July 15, 2021, to provide information on the tentative agreement. CAAT-S local presidents are also invited to attend.

This meeting will be followed by the release of the tentative agreement to CAAT-S PT members. The bargaining team is recommending members vote to accept the tentative agreement, which includes:

  • greater employment stability and security
  • the highest possible compensation adjustments allowed under Bill 124, the provincial government’s public sector wage restraint bill
  • the promise to return to the table if OPSEU/SEFPO’s Charter challenge on Bill 124 is successful

In accordance with the Colleges Collective Bargaining Act, the Ministry of Labour will conduct and supervise the ratification vote. Details on this process will be released soon.

The bargaining team will hold information sessions with CAAT-S PT members before the ratification vote. The team will present the agreement and answer questions from members.
