The Brockville Recorder and Times is reporting on a group of local community health care professionals who have voted to join OPSEU/SEFPO.
The roughly 50 new members work at the five Upper Canada Family Health Team locations in Brockville and the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. They are Nurse Practitioners, RNs, RPNs, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and other health care professionals.
In a statement to The Recorder, organizers of the union effort said issues with management include high turnover rate, job insecurity and fair working practices.
“We feel like we need a voice in the workplace, and we didn’t feel like we had that before,” the Recorder quotes one of the organizers as saying.
