Apply to attend OPSEU's 2019 Francophone Conference!
Publication DateTuesday, February 5, 2019 - 10:00am
The Provincial Francophone Committee (PFC) invites OPSEU members to submit their application for the 2019 Francophone Conference that will take place from June 14-16, 2019 in Ottawa. In addition to welcoming previous conference participants, the PFC would like to extend a special invitation to those who have not attended in the past. We look forward to meeting you!
This year’s event, “Building Our Legacy: Heritage, Education and Culture” will focus on the role OPSEU plays in promoting the francophone culture across the province. It will serve to mobilize and organize Francophones in response to recent government cuts to French Language Services (FLS). In addition, we will also explore the ways in which education is used as a tool to promote and preserve a culture. The overall goal will be for those who attend to confidently express themselves in French, in public, as well as go home with ideas for immediate action in their communities.
Don’t miss this opportunity to network, learn, share experiences, and have some fun. Please submit your completed application by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax to the Equity Unit no later than midnight on March 31, 2019. Please also note that preference will be given to members who self-identify as francophone or those confident enough to communicate in the language. We will be applying the criteria as set out in questions 1-10 of the application form. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
