Plans are underway for OPSEU’s upcoming 3rd Biennial Francophone Conference. Hosted by the union’s Provincial Francophone Committee, “Building Our Legacy through Heritage, Education and Culture” will address the issues that greatly affect francophones as a result of today’s political climate. Some of the goals and objectives of the conference include:
- identifying and mobilizing francophones within a community;
- using education as an essential tool in the development of a culture;
- promoting greater access to French Language Services in the province in response to recent government cuts; and
- developing an action plan to preserve the francophonie culture by strengthening locals, communities and the union.
The event will be held from June 14-16, 2019 at the Lord Elgin Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario and is open to all OPSEU members.
