Title: Membership Services Clerk (32-05)
Location:  Membership Services Unit, Financial Division, OPSEU Head Office, 100 Lesmill Road, Toronto ON.
Reporting To: Supervisor, Membership Services Unit
Start Date: To be determined
Salary: $1,154.00 to $1,200.00 per week (Range 4 – Support)
Working Conditions: As provided in the OPSSU Collective Agreement

Applicants interested in applying must be able to fulfill the following qualifications listed below:

Principal Duties:

 Under the general direction of the Membership Services Supervisor, the duties include but are not limited to:

  • Monitors and records receipt of monthly membership dues, including follow-up on delinquent dues
  • Enters membership dues data into Unionware and balances for accuracy
  • Liaises with employers to verify, update or correct membership and dues information
  • Deals with membership inquiries regarding accuracy of availability of membership data
  • Updates membership database
  • Verifies entered data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or re-entering data
  • Keeps files of membership applications, membership record changes and dues listings
  • Responds to requests for information
  • Complies with data integrity and security policies
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Community College Certificate (or equivalent combination of education and experience) and one year related work experience
  • Requires intermediate PC skills and knowledge of relevant software packages
  • Tact and Diplomacy skills
  • Data entry skills
  • Understanding and commitment to Labour/Social Democratic Philosophy and Diversity
  • Knowledge of OPSEU organization, structure and policies; knowledge of own Unit as well as familiarity of operations of other Units
