The Executive Committee was called to order at 9:01 a.m. President Thomas was in the Chair. All members were present. Clarke Eaton, Advisor to the President was also in attendance.

Executive Board Committee Elections 2019-2021

The elections for the Executive Board Member Committees will take place for the following positions:

Whereas employees from VON Kingston voted in favour of joining OPSEU; and

Whereas employees from Village Green Retirement Napanee voted in favour of joining OPSEU; and

Whereas the work performed by the employees of VON Kingston and Village Green Retirement Napanee are similar in nature;

Therefore be it resolved that the OPSEU Executive Committee recommend to the OPSEU Executive Board approve the creation of a new local #4108 for the employees of VON Kingston and Village Green Retirement Napanee

Solidarity Reserve Fund Requests

Therefore be it resolved that the Solidarity Reserve Fund provide up to $5,000 for legal expenses that are incurred by the member in a civil suit with the disability insurer on the conditions that: 1) the member’s lawyer charge reasonable rates as confirmed by OPSEU counsel; and 2) that the member’s lawyer make reasonable efforts to recover legal costs for the member and OPSEU as part of any settlement or judgment.
