CAAT Support Joint Classification Committee

The job of the Joint Classification Committee (JCC) is to make sure college support staff get the right pay for the work they do. The JCC deals with province-wide job classification issues. Committee members:

  • review and summarize classification awards;
  • review the performance of arbitrators and study controversial decisions;
  • clarify the application of the job evaluation system;
  • communicate with OPSEU members about classification issues;
  • develop training modules for arbitrators and stewards;
  • identify problems in the classification system and develop strategies to fix them;
  • update the job evaluation manual; and
  • update the classification awards database.

Wrongly classified?

If you believe your position is wrongly classified, speak to your OPSEU local steward to find out who is the classification expert for your local.

Membership on the JCC

The CAAT(S) Division elects four OPSEU members at large to sit on the JCC. Elections take place at the final demand-setting meeting for each round of bargaining. CAAT(S) employees in the OPSEU bargaining unit can contact the JCC at any time.

Your OPSEU committee members are listed in the right hand column.
