As of January 22, 2015, there were no persons in Ontario under investigation where Ebola testing was recommended and results are pending. Since July 30, 2014, 12 persons in Ontario were investigated for Ebola and all were negative for Ebola. There have been no probable or confirmed cases of Ebola detected in Ontario or Canada.
Although new cases of Ebola continue to be diagnosed in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, the numbers are dropping substantially week by week. During the week of January 18, only 145 new cases were reported from all three countries.
