The OLRB has issued its final decision regarding the new combined service and clerical bargaining unit at the Scarborough and Rouge Hospital. We are extremely saddened that OPSEU’s clerical bargaining unit will be absorbed into the new combined unit that covers all sites.

Unfortunately, with less than 20 per cent of members in the post-merger combined unit, recent Liberal legislation dictates that no representation vote is required.

“While it is upsetting to lose dedicated union members, we appreciate their many important contributions over the years,” said OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas. “On behalf of OPSEU’s Executive Board, I want to wish these members well within their new union, and all the best for the future.”
