All OPS members are asked to wear blue on Wednesday, April 30, to show their solidarity with AMAPCEO, said OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas and Roxanne Barnes, Chair, Central Enforcement and Renewal Committee, in an email to OPS members earlier today. AMAPCEO’s fight is our fight. The deep cuts that the government wants from AMAPCEO, including cuts to benefits, could come to the OPSEU bargaining table in November.
Solidarity Rally to Stop the Cuts
April 25, 2014
ALOC, AMAPCEO, OPSEU and PEGO members will come together on April 30 to oppose the government’s proposed cuts to benefits and other provisions of the AMAPCEO contract.
Solidarity Rally
Wednesday, April 30
12 noon
Front Lawn, Queen's Park (in front of the Legislature)
Speakers to include:
Executive Board Member of ALOC
Gary Gannage, President, AMAPCEO
Warren (Smokey) Thomas, President, OPSEU
Ping Wu, President, PEGO
AMAPCEO's fight is our fight. The very same cuts the government is seeking from AMAPCEO could come to the OPSEU bargaining table when we bargain a new collective agreement in November. We ask all OPS members to wear blue next Wednesday to show OPS employees stand united against the employer's attack on us and our families.
Read our Bargaining Outlook for more information about the concessions, including the elimination of all current paramedical coverage, to be replaced with a $600 Health Care Spending Account.

Joint OPSEU-AMAPCEO flyer to be distributed at OPS work locations
April 15, 2014
This message was e-mailed April 15 to all OPS LEC members:
Dear OPS LEC members,
As you're aware, AMAPCEO is the first bargaining unit this year in the OPS to bear the brunt of proposed cuts by the Ontario government. Ultimately, their fight is our fight. Our union has pledged our solidarity and support to the Association during this tough period. Click here to see my April 1 memo.
AMAPCEO members will be distributing a joint flyer from our two organizations tomorrow at OPS work locations. Please try to get out and help with the leafleting, if you can.
As well, there will be a media conference at Queen's Park at 12:45 tomorrow of the bargaining agents representing the majority of OPS employees. We will release details of a Solidarity Pact to protect public services and public service jobs.
In solidarity,
Warren (Smokey) Thomas
President
Roxanne Barnes
Chair, Central Enforcement and Renewal Committee
