You are cordially invited to a High Tea Rally in support of the locked-out workers of Local 262 March of Dimes. Their employer, The March of Dimes is hosting a High Tea fundraiser on Dec. 8 in Toronto. We need your support to remind the March of Dimes to refocus its attention on supporting people with disabilities, not profiting from them.
Date: December 8, 2013
Time: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Front entrance the Fairmount Royal York, 100 Front Street W, Toronto
Please bring your own cup and saucer.
Despite the fact the Ontario March of Dimes reported $2.3 million in profits since 2010, the charity locked out its workers on Oct. 28 as part of a take-it-or-leave-it strategy to have workers agree to a contract offer that would erode wages and benefits and impose language changes to the collective agreement. All of the workers are women and most are part-time with dependents.
The Ontario March of Dimes is directly funded by the Provincial government to provide services to people with disabilities.
