Recently, the media have reported on allegations of systemic bullying and harassment of lawyers with the Ministry of the Attorney General (MAG). While OPSEU does not represent Crown counsel, we are the proud bargaining agent for professional and administrative support members working in the same area.
The government is committed to a positive, professional and respectful workplace, as reflected in its Respectful Workplace Policy and Workplace Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Policy. If any OPSEU member feels they have been a victim of harassment or bullying, they may file a grievance.
We encourage any member who needs support to contact the Employee and Family Assistance Program at 1-800-387-4765. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Members with questions or concerns may contact OPSEU at 416-443-8888 or 1-800-268-7376 to speak with their assigned staff representative for assistance with the grievance process or for additional information on the previously referenced employer policies.
For further information, contact Tim Elphick, A/OPS Negotiator, Ministry of the Attorney General, at 416-443-8888, ext. 8645.
