Child protection workers, social service providers, and concerned community members are holding a Community Solidarity Rally in support of workers and youth and to raise the alarm about the lack of placements and appropriate treatment for children and youth in CAS care.

DATE: Wednesday, May 24
TIME: 4:00- 6:00 pm
LOCATION: Children’s Aid Society of London & Middlesex, 1680 Oxford St E. London, ON

The event will include speakers:

  • §  Ashley Pikul, President OPSEU/SEFPO Local 116
  • §  Tina Stevens OPSEU/SEFPO Indigenous Circle
  • §  Laurie Nancekivell, OPSEU/SEFPO First Vice-President/Treasurer
  • §  Theresa Armstrong, MPP London—Fanshawe
  • §  Chrisy Tremblay, Region 4 EBM CAS Sector Chair
  • §  Patti Dalton, London District Labour Council President

The goal of this event is to mobilize public support, highlighting the Ford government’s failure to provide safe and supportive housing for youth in care with complex needs. This critical oversight jeopardizes the well-being of youth, workers, and communities. It is time to prioritize stability and remove profit-driven incentives from the system to ensure a secure environment for youth in care.
