The OPS Collective Agreement expires on December 31, 2017. With the recent amendments to the Crown Employees Collective Bargaining Act (CECBA), that means we're starting two new rounds of negotiations this year. One of those rounds is for the new stand-alone Corrections agreement.
OPS Corrections members as well as Unified members who are working in Corrections workplaces are invited to an interactive telephone town hall meeting on February 9, 2017. Join us to learn about the bargaining climate we're facing and the new provincial online demand-setting survey. We'll also be taking questions and comments from members who call in.
You'll receive a recorded phone call and email a few days ahead of time with instructions on how to join us by phone or livestream online. If you do not receive this information by February 7th, please contact your regional office to find out how to dial in or find us online.
We'll call you on February 9
You have two sessions to choose from – we'll cover the same information at both. The town hall will last about an hour. You can pick the time that works best for you – just answer the phone when we call at one of these times:
- Between 1:00 and 1:10 p.m.
- Between 7:00 and 7:10 p.m.
What if I'm not home during the town hall?
That's okay – you can still join in from another location or online! Use the dial in number or livestream web address you received earlier in the week by email or voicemail. If you don't receive the email or voicemail by February 7, call your regional office.
What if I miss the town hall?
We hope you can join us. But even if you can't make it, you can keep up to date on OPS bargaining by visiting www.opseu.org. We'll post all OPS bargaining information here as it becomes available.
