Please join OPSEU’s Rainbow Alliance arc-en-ciel, in collaboration with the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and PIPSC (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada), in a movie screening of “A Fantastic Woman” on May 17, 2018 at 8pm in Ottawa’s ByTowne Cinema. Admission is free but charitable donations will be accepted. The film will be screened in Spanish with English subtitles.
The movie stars Marina, a transgender woman who works as a waitress and moonlights as a nightclub singer. Tragedy strikes one night when her boyfriend suddenly dies and she must come to terms with this new reality.
“A Fantastic Woman” is a 2017 Chilean drama directed by Sebastián Lelio and stars Daniela Vega and Francisco Reyes. It won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards ceremony.
